Psalm 17:5 “Hold up my goings in Thy paths, that my footsteps slip not.”
I have started watching sweet baby Lyric while youngest daughter works. Her joyful laughter brightens all the shadows that lurk in the corners. Chasing her around the house has become my full time job. She rapidly progressed from crawling to pulling up on every object in the house, both animate and inanimate (the dogs!!) Forgetting that she doesn’t know how to get back down from standing up, these moments usually end with her screaming for me to save her.
Sometimes I save her and sometimes I don’t. She is learning to figure it out on her own, even though it comes with bumps and bruises occasionally. She looks my way often, drawing security from knowing I will come to her rescue if she truly needs me. My frequent praise when she does something on her own helps her gain confidence in her own abilities.
