“While they were worshiping the Lord and fasting, the Holy Spirit said,
‘Set apart for me Barnabas and Saul for the work to which I have called them.'”
Bible studies can typically be a real bore to review. Either they are deep in theological concepts that go right over the head of the average reader or they are cotton candy studies that just try to give you a spoonful of the truth without giving you any real depth of understanding. So it is a joy to get a Bible study to review that actually takes into account the Christian desire to truly understand God’s Word. Erica Wiggenhorn set out to write a verse by verse study of the divine invitation found in the book of Acts.
Many Christians find themselves unsure of how to spread the gospel. The work of ministry seems out of the reach of the average mom who is just trying to get through the day without misplacing a child or burning dinner. Acts is a book in the Bible that speaks particularly to the work of spreading the gospel. Erica has broken this book down into a 10 week study to help spark, or even reignite, the power that each of us holds to spread the Good News.
Each day starts with a scripture, a historical context, and some questions to ponder. There is a link for those who wish to go even deeper and even a free leaders guide if you would like to use this study in a house church. I had to really pace myself because I found myself wanting to keep reading instead of stopping at the end of each lesson.
I think that too many of us feel like we can’t make a difference. But with a study like The Unexplainable Church, you will be able to see that the invitation is sent out to each of us. Erica has issued “an invitation to walk alongside a man who never got over the awe and wonder of God’s grace.” It is never too late to reignite the passion. Won’t you join me in this study? You can purchase it HERE.
I pray you are all safe from the effects of this month of storms, fires, and earthquakes. We, thankfully, made it through everything with no damage. I am praying for each of you and look forward to hearing how you liked this new Bible study.
