A great post. I laughed out loud about the hermit crabs...that you don't speak hermit crab but that you were sure one wasn't asking the other out for coffee. hee hee. :)

James 3:16 is a verse that really stopped me in my tracks earlier this year. I had been noticing some places of disorder in my life, wondering why they were there. Then I read that verse and realized what was causing it. Envy. Selfish ambition. Ouch. So thankful His Word steps on our toes just when we need it most. :)

Wow, I am so thrilled you shared this! Thank you! Your friends words were very beautiful & truly spoke right to my heart. Sometimes waiting on God is tough, but I realize that like a garden, I too need time to grow & proper "maintenance". The "tilling" & "weeding" God is doing in my life seem overwhelming but I want the beautiful garden at the end so I will press on. Heard this verse already twice this morning & I'm holding on to it! :) "Let us not become weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up. Galatians 6:9" Thank you again & please tell your friend I said thank you too!! (Also, please let me know when she gets a blog, I'd love to read it! :) )

Thank you Lyn. My son is a marine. He was gone last Christmas but home this Christmas. He leaves again to go over to Afghanistan in mid January. Two of our daughter's are married to Army soldiers. It is an issue that is close to my heart. I will add your brother to my prayers, as well as you and your family. Hugs to you!

Hey Michelle, this post was so moving I couldn't help but tear up. My brother is deployed overseas with other Marines who won't be seeing their families for some time. This was our first Christmas without him by our side :'-(

Michelle, Casting Crowns was one of the first bands that got my attention when I started going to Fellowship and listening to KSBJ several years ago. For me, it was Voice of Truth. The first time I heard it I remember wishing I'd heard it many years earlier. It really affected me and helped me to change some of my negative thinking. I began listening to a whole lot of contemporary Christian music and deepening my faith. Thanks for sharing, as always!
